The Most Stunning Evening Gowns at Paris Couture Fashion Week That Captured Our Hearts

Fashion Trends Spring-Summer 2024

The 2024/25 Haute Couture Week showcased what a modern luxurious woman looks like: passionate and strong, yet sensual and tender. Global brands presented breathtaking collections that left us in awe.

Haute Couture Weeks in Paris remind us that fashion is still an art form to be admired. Cristóbal Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Elsa Schiaparelli, and Hubert de Givenchy taught women to be unique and showed them what luxury means. The world watched the rivalry between Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli in the 20th century: while Chanel dressed her followers in minimalist pieces, Schiaparelli attracted attention with extravagant designs and gradually won over Chanel’s clientele.

In today’s world, there is still a silent rivalry between couture brands. However, the task for designers now is not only to surprise audiences with unusual dresses but also to create viral shows that become the most talked-about on social media. Schiaparelli excels at this: the fashion house revived its archives and thrilled everyone with recent shows. The most striking was the Spring-Summer 2023 show, where Naomi Campbell wore a fur coat with a panther's head, and Irina Shayk walked the runway in a dress with a lion's head.

At the Schiaparelli Haute Couture FW 2024/25 show, creative director Daniel Roseberry made the guests' hearts race. Models walked on a sand-like runway, resembling birds with golden feathers, sharp wing-like shoulders, and deep slits in their dresses.

This year, the fashion house decided to add an air of mystery: the show was closed, not broadcasted online or on social media, making it exclusive for stylists, editors, influencers, and brand fans to find the first glimpses and videos. Daniel Roseberry dedicated the show to the phoenix, symbolizing rebirth. The collection was relatively simple by Schiaparelli’s standards, which disappointed some fans.

In contrast, Giambattista Valli maintained his signature style with floor-length gowns that continue to captivate women worldwide. His new collection highlighted the fusion of different cultures, Europe and India, during the Renaissance.

George Hobeika also embraced the botanical garden theme at Paris Couture Week. The Lebanese brand is known for its passion for luxury, characterized by glitter, flowers, and flawless silhouettes transforming the female figure into an elegant stem flowing into a full bloom.

Juana Martin invigorated all the stars who arrived in Paris, adding passion, feminine strength, and unwavering confidence to the floral motifs of other brands. The collection evoked memories of “Alice in Wonderland” where the White and Red Queens meet on a personal runway duel.

Stephane Rolland played with contrasts, combining black and white, sharp and soft elements in one collection. His fascination with this dichotomy dates back to childhood, surrounded by black-and-white fashion photographs in his mother’s renowned Parisian photo studio. His latest collection features color blocks inspired by the 1940s and 1950s, with models gliding down a misty runway, transforming into elegant statues dressed in velvet, crepe, tulle, and satin.
