Our attention this month has been captivated by the marathon of Fashion Weeks, kicking off with the presentations of men's collections in Milan and Paris. Among these, Dries Van Noten bid farewell to his role as creative director after 38 years in the industry. His final collection for spring-summer 2025 was a reflection on contemporary elegance and forward-thinking designs.
However, the pinnacle awaited was undoubtedly Paris Haute Couture Week, where 27 brands showcased their exquisite creations. Schiaparelli opened with a theme of rebirth, capturing the essence with phoenix-inspired silhouettes. Meanwhile, Chanel opted for a dramatic setting at the Opéra Garnier, marking the first collection under new creative direction after Virginie Viard's departure.
Balenciaga, under Demna Gvasalia, presented an extravagant collection intertwining everyday oversized elements with high fashion elegance. Celebrity guests at these events brought their own flair: Kylie Jenner in a semi-sheer corseted gown, Jennifer Lopez in an asymmetrical draped dress with cape, and Katy Perry in a bold fur coat and torn tights before the Balenciaga show.
Jacquemus Showcase on Capri Island
In addition to Fashion Weeks, we adore Simon Porte Jacquemus' showcases, each held in unique locations. This time, he chose the sunny and blooming island of Capri, specifically the rooftop of Casa Malaparte—a modernist building atop a cliff that had fascinated Simon for years. The show commemorated the 15th anniversary of his brand's founding, featuring semi-sheer maxi dresses with draping, A-line skirts, oversized collar coats, and Jacquemus' signature Bermuda shorts.
